![]() Beer is for everyone, and this event will show the world that Brighton and Hove is a fantastic beer destination, not only during these ten days, but all year round.” I hope Brighton & Hove Beer Week will encourage people – even those who don’t normally drink beer – to try something a little bit different. We have some world class breweries both in Brighton & Hove and across Sussex, and some wonderful beer venues throughout the city. “Just like the city, Brighton & Hove Beer Week will be diverse, welcoming, celebratory and committed to championing what we do best here in terms of music, food, entertainment and, of course, beer. Brighton and Hove Beer Week’s founder is award-winning beer writer and broadcaster, Emma Inch. Some individual events are ticketed but there are no festival lanyards or wristbands, and there is no central festival hub – just a city full of beer to explore and enjoy. There’s also plenty to keep music fans happy, including beer and music pairing at The Brunswick, and a Collaboration Carnival – featuring Carnival Collective – at the North Laine Brewhouse. There are numerous beer and food matching events throughout the week including a Beer Breakfast at The Independent, and a Beer and Cheese evening hosted by food writer, Patrick McGuigan and city brewery, Brighton Bier. Miles Jenner, head brewer of Harvey’s Brewery will deliver a unique, sky-high beer tasting in the British Airways i360, and a ‘Beer on the Pier’ event, will showcase the creativity and talent of local, independent brewers. ![]() Sussex brewery, Burning Sky – recently named the BBC Food & Farming Awards Best Drinks Producer – is celebrating its fifth birthday as part of Brighton & Hove Beer Week, and, by way of a party, has invited 20 of the UK’s best brewers to showcase their beers at The Prince Albert pub. City breweries, including Loud Shirt and Hand Brew Co., will open their doors to the public, and there’ll be tap takeovers across the city from local breweries such as Dark Star, Holler and Lost Pier, and others from further afield including Northern Monk, Siren and Marble. The week, which runs from Friday 24 August – Sunday 2 September, features tours, tastings, tap takeovers, brewery open days and exclusive festival brews. With more than sixty events taking place across thirty venues throughout the ten-day period, the organisers are hoping it will put the city of Brighton and Hove on every beer lover’s map. The line-up of events for the inaugural Brighton & Hove Beer Week has been announced.
